At Covenant House New York, our doors never close. We understand that finding a safe place to stay is the first step toward a brighter future. If you are a young person experiencing homelessness or are at risk of losing your housing, we currently have shelter bed vacancies and a team ready to support you 24/7.

We provide specialized care across three primary locations to ensure every young person gets the specific environment they need:

Our Locations & Programs

  • Crisis Youth Shelter (460 West 41st St): Serving single youth ages 16–21.

  • Parent and Child Building (45 W 177th St): Dedicated housing for parenting and pregnant youth.

  • Young Adult Program (3322 Bainbridge Ave): Specifically for female-identified youth ages 21–24.


More Than Just a Bed

Covenant House is a community built on wraparound support. When you walk through our doors, you gain access to a network of services designed to help you thrive:

  • Healthcare & Safety: All youth receive a physical and COVID-19 testing within 72 hours of intake. We follow strict CDC guidelines to keep our community healthy.

  • Human Trafficking Support: We provide dedicated case management and supportive services for survivors of human trafficking, including a Survivor Leader program for advocacy and training.

  • Mental Health & Wellness: Our staff is trained in trauma-informed therapy and supportive counseling to help you navigate life's challenges.

  • Legal & Career Services: Get the professional help you need with legal assistance, employment searching, and vocational training.


How to Access Help

No referral is needed. You can show up at any time, though we encourage you (or your provider) to call ahead so we can prepare for your arrival and confirm bed availability.

A Note on Safety: To protect our youth and staff, we strongly encourage masking and frequent handwashing at our onsite sanitizing stations. If you have been exposed to COVID-19 or are symptomatic, our team will walk you through the quarantine process with care and dignity.
