About the Provider
I work with people who are fed up, tired of feeling stuck, and ready to break free of unhelpful thoughts, feelings, behaviors, and unhealthy relationships. Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, I’ve personally experienced and witnessed those in my community struggle with issues such as depression, anxiety, and trauma. It was through these experiences that I gained the passion to better understand the ways in which individuals, couples, and families can effectively cope with and heal from difficult circumstances. As a result, I have worked as a mental health professional in New York for the past 10 years providing care in a variety of health and mental health settings.
As a Black cis-male therapist, I hold the belief that our various intersectional identities strongly influence how we show up in the world and how we experience the people around us. This approach paired with my training allows me to stay attuned to how issues of social justice, oppression, power and privilege influence the problems that adults, families, and couples face.
I am a New York State Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I completed my Masters in Social Work at Hunter College. I received post-graduate training in EDMR therapy and also family and couples therapy at the Ackerman Institute for the Family. I utilize my training in couples & family therapy and EMDR to guide people to new insights about their relationships and themselves.
