About the Provider
A native from Lima, Peru, I graduated from midwifery school there at the age of 23. Since then, I have been able to participate in the birthing process in different settings, from hospital to home. Ultimately, it was home birthing that inspired me and brought joy to my work.
I came to the New York when I was 26 and after assisting another homebirth midwife for about 4 years, I started my own solo homebirth practice in 2011. I have had the honor of working with Hispanic communities throughout the city and be part of their journey into motherhood.
My practice is based on listening to people’s stories and visions of their births and on empowering them to own their birth experiences. My care is personalized and aimed to educate and offer information necessary to build a trustworthy relationship with every pregnant person under my care. I adjust my care to the needs of every individual so I can support them and contribute towards achieving the goal of a natural and powerful birth experience.
Additionally I offer well woman care to individuals interested in learning more about their bodies and how to take care of it through nutrition, screening tests, natural remedies and counseling. This include gyn check ups (like pap smears), birth control counselling, and pre-conceptional counseling
