Saonjie Hamilton is a Certified Nurse Midwife and a lead midwife at Oula, with over a decade of experience in maternal health collaborating with physicians, mental health therapists, and social workers. She believes in taking a multidisciplinary and collaborative approach to care, with a particular focus on cultural respect, especially for people from marginalized communities. As a Caribbean-American, she prides herself on building a rapport with patients across culturally, linguistically, racially, and ethnically-diverse needs.

With experience at Mount Sinai West’s prior birth center, as well as SUNY Downstate Medical Center, and LIJ Forest Hills, Saonjie has delivered over 500 babies. She received her MS in Midwifery from SUNY Downstate Medical Center, her AAS in Nursing from Phillips Beth Israel School of Nursing, and her BS in Chemistry from St. John’s University.
