About the Provider
As a black woman who is also a clinician I believe that representation is so important especially in mental health. Mental health has previously been something that black people are ambivalent to partake in but now more than ever it is imperative that we find our power through self exploration and healing. For everyone the process though this journey of self healing may look different but it is the commitment we make to take care of ourselves. In my clinical approach with you I strive to create a culturally competent, safe supportive space and partnership where client and clinician travel together on a road of self-discovery healing encompassed within a strong therapeutic alliance. I have therapeutic focus in utilizing the TFCBT, Seeking Safety, CBT and DBT modalities to assist one in managing symptoms related to anxiety, depression, PTSD, addiction and trauma. I work to assist clients in learning skills that may be applicable to times of intense stress or high emotion where they can feel more equipped in their daily life. My main goal is to ensure that you are able to work through the many life stressors that can create distress and assist you to moving towards a life worth living. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Concordia College-NY and went on to earn my masters in social work at Columbia University.
