My name is Emily. I am a Full Spectrum Doula and a Spiritual Healer. Heart centered and Spirit led, on the basis that birthing is as much a Spiritual experience as it is physical, mental and emotional. I aim to honor this by bringing back the ancestral traditions of birthing and wellness, however that may look for each family. 

I believe in bodily autonomy, cultural competence, and empathy. I provide evidence based care that centers and educates families of color so that they can make informed decisions regarding their care and their journey. I aim not to empower, but remind them of the power already within. I believe in using intuitive, holistic, and culturally competent approaches to birth and healing, to provide individualized care and support for each family through pre-conception, pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and or loss. Some of my methods include breath work, energy healing, aromatherapy, meditation, plant medicine, etc.

While I always knew that I would use a doula for my own pregnancy journey when the time came, I never imagined myself becoming one. Fast forward to my younger sister being pregnant during a pandemic. I found myself researching ways I could provide support, learning about the hospital system and maternal health statistics. The lack of medical support my sister experienced, along with all the unfavorable information I learned, pushed me towards wanting to dive deeper and become a part of the solution. As a Spiritual healer, a big focus in my every day life is to bring back the traditions of my ancestors, birth practices included. What better way to do that than as a doula for my people.
