Ajamu was born in the South Bronx and is the product of a hypnotic birth in 1968.  His mom and dad read a book on hypnosis written by William Kroger, MD in 1960 and they used the techniques to have a peaceful, pain-free birth without anesthesia.  He is also a Bradley Method (R) dad and used those techniques to help facilitate the birth of his first daughter in 1999.  Ajamu also understands the IVF journey and he used his understanding of hypnosis applied to fertility to help with the conception of his second daughter in 2023.  He has several certifications in hypnotic childbirth methods and has been teaching his own approach, Better Birthing for Babies since 2002, which he later renamed, Awakened Birth. Ajamu was the IACT Therapist of the Year in 2004 based on his work with breast cancer survivors and the NATH Most Unique Contribution award winner in 2017 for his work providing prenatal and postnatal hypnotic support to families virtually and in their homes.  Ajamu has 30 years of experience helping people with hypnosis. He has worked virtually since 2012 and has assisted clients in thirty states and thirteen countries.
